Understanding how dice rolls work in I Must Kill

Standard Rolls

Roll 1d10. If the result is equal to or less than your relevant stat, you succeed.

Advantage

When you have Advantage, roll 2d10 and choose the lower result. This represents favorable circumstances, specialized equipment, or tactical superiority.

Disadvantage

When you have Disadvantage, roll 2d10 and choose the higher result. This represents poor conditions, being hindered, or unfavorable circumstances.

Attack Stat and Hit Points

Choose Body, Agility, or Focus as your AttackStat for combat rolls. Your HitPoints equal half of your Fate score (rounded up).

Adventuring Assumptions

Your character is competent, and capable of taking care of themselves under normal circumstances. Basic needs like bandages, water, and food are assumed to be met unless the GM specifies otherwise. Money is kept in general terms - you either have enough or you don't.
